Approval of a possible total
of six hours of continuing education credits was received Tuesday
afternoon. Each of the three Forums has been approved for two hours
of CE credit, so come get what you need and what your schedule will
allow. Registrations are coming in at a good pace and ahead of last
year, but the SNOQUALMIE SUMMIT
INN still has space for more appraisers.

* 2 Hours Continuing Education Credit for each seminar (6 hours
total) have been approved by Washington State.

The FBI will
present APPRAISAL FRAUD AND HOW TO AVOID ITS WEB with DANNY
BARKLEY, Supervisory Special Agent in charge of White Collar
Crime at the Seattle FBI office. This timely topic comes on
the heels of several instances of appraisers being involved
in various scams and in predatory lending. The presentation
will teach you the signs of possible trouble.

The new, national
APPRAISAL INSTITUTE RESIDENTIAL DATA BASE will be introduced
by BILL KING, Federal Way appraiser and the Western Regional
Representative for FNC, Inc., of Oxford, MS. His presentation
will include information on the latest trends and technology
in data base concepts and automatic valuation models. These
tools are developing at a fast pace, and ARE BECOMING AVAILABLE
TO ALL APPRAISERS.

APPRAISAL
INDUSTRY CHANGES - Presented by the Peterson Family Appraisers.
They will synthesize the lessons and the indications of future
industry changes as presented in the July Val 2000 Conference
in Las Vegas. Topics generally will include the latest on business
and professional practices and USPAP (where it is now and where
it may be headed). After their reviews and reflections,
they will lead a discussion with ample time for your questions.

Conference Logistics
Location: Snoqualmie Summit Inn at Snoqualmie Pass
Driving Directions: From Seattle (52 miles) - Take 1-90 East, straight
to Exit 52 (West Summit). At the end of the ramp, stay to the right,
Inn is two blocks on the left, From Eastern Washington - Take 1-90
West to Exit 53. At the end of the ramp, turn left passing under
1-90. At the stop sign, turn right. it is two blocks on the right.
Reservations at the Inn: A block of rooms has been reserved for
the night of Thursday, August l7th at the Summit Inn, $85, deluxe
king and $95, double/queen, plus applicable taxes and charges.

Conference Fee and Enrollment, $95, which includes presentations

check by Friday, August 11. Cancellations accepted until noon,
August I5 for full refund. No refunds after that time.
